Do you notice something different about this sweet little face?

Jacob is now off all respiratory support and it looks like this time is going to be for good!
Last Thursday the NNP and Neonatologist decided to take Jacob of his 3L of flow and go straight to nothing. I guess at that point the flow isn't really doing much so some babies do just fine with the jump and he needed to have his tubing retaped anyway and had been doing well. When I got there I was surprised to see Jacob without the vapotherm and his cute little cheeks were red from haveing the adhesive removed (they do it gently but it had been on for a while.) He was doing well and then got tired and would start to drift from sats of 100% down to the 80s and then back up so after about half an hour Jacob went back on the vapotherm at room air and 3L. Over the next couple days he was weaned down to 2.5L and then to the wall flow until he spent yesterday on 0.2L.. like hardly any flow until this morning when Trudee, his nurse, took him off and he has been doing well PRONG FREE ever since. Hoping and praying he continues to do well.
Little man was 3lbs 10oz when weighed tonight as well. Maybe he will get to a big boy bed soon!
