Due Date

It is weird knowing that today was to goal... the day when our little girl was supposed to be ready to come to our family. I know due dates are never spot on but it is the focus of everything pregnancy related during those months. We are finally there and so fortunate that Melany is so healthy and at home with us considering she is 12 and a half weeks old and should only be a few weeks old at most.

On Monday Melany hit 5lbs and 18.5in long. She is thriving at home :-)

 A few things about our littlest baby girl. She loves to snuggle. If you hold her up to you she molds to you body and hugs you with her little arms, especially if you hold her up high, by your neck. She prefers to lay righ next to mommy and sleeps the longest that way when she has fallen asleep eating, but she still sleeps well in her cradle. Melany has a special tolerance for her big sisters. They are very gentle with her but they are still toddlers. If Melany is upset she responds to the affections of her sisters, who always want to kiss her and tell her everything is ok and to not be sad. Melany is a very pleasant baby, she doesn't even seem to have a very fussy time, just mainly when she if hungry or needs a diaper change. I only wish her most awake time was not between 11:30pm and 1:30am. Even that though is tolerable.
We love this baby girl. She is such a sweet spirit and having her home means our family is all together. What an amazing blessing in itself and especially after all the happenings of the summer. We have been through a lot already and it is just now your due date sweet  Melany Pam.
