Saturday was our ward Christmas dinner. I signed up to make green bean casserole. I thought I had this GREAT idea of making my own french friend onions instead of buying them since I think they are expensive. Well long story short, it wasn't a whole lot cheaper, they weren't quite the smae and it was WAY time consuming and WAY messy and my house smelled like fried unions for the rest of the weekend. Luckily they tasted fine in the casserole, but I sliced under my thumb nail on a can lid after emptying the green beans, and after the whole process that day Slap a band-aid on and get over it right.
They did a craft for the older kids and had Santa visit. Haylie did not like Santa.
Not quite so sure
Actually Haylie doesn't seem to like many of the Chriatmas knick nacks and decorations. She won't walk in my mom's living room alone because of the minature standing Santa, she cried when the stuffed raindeer snag to her and clung to my mom for dear life when my dad put antlers and a Rudolf nose on. She is even leery around my dads child hood train set he has set up around the Christmas tree.Anyway, after we inflicted the Santa trauma on Haylie we had dinner, the primary sand and we watched a video. Not very exciting but it was a nice social event with really good food.
